Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control Daily Scrub: It Really Works!

Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control Scrub

I’m almost 40 years old (um, I probably shouldn’t tell you that…) but until recently I still suffered from zits–the dreaded “adult acne.”

I complained to my primary care physician about this problem for years and kept putting off a consultation with a dermatologist. Recently, however, I started using Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control Scrub every night, and I noticed some improvements on my own.

But when I went to see my doctor this week for a routine checkup (6 months had elapsed since I last saw her), she looked at me and suddenly exclaimed “Your face! The acne’s gone!” As you can imagine, I was thrilled by her assessment.

Although this is a drugstore product, it is effective. In addition to clearer skin, some of my sun damage is fading. I can’t say the sun damage has been completely eradicated, but I am seeing improvement, particularly around the shrinking edges of my sun spots. I am, of course, trying to be vigilant about daily sunscreen to help this process along.

But I have to give credit where credit is due: Neutrogena really helped me with my embarrassing problem.

As I’ve mentioned here before, I tend to have oily skin and I like products that leave me with a tingle. This scrub removes all of my excess oil without leaving my face stripped or dry. It has the prefect tingle–invigorating but not painful orbiting. The granules in the scrub are on the larger end of the spectrum, however, so this is probably not a good product for those with sensitive skin, who might find it to feel too scratchy. The high level of salicylic acid might also be too much if your skin is dry or sensitive. But if you’re like me–somewhat on the oily side with fairly tough facial skin that doesn’t mind a scrub with some texture–this product will probably help you out with your acne or sunspots too.

Where I got my scrub: Ulta.
