Avon Moisture Therapy Body Wash
I was initially skeptical of Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing and Repair Body Wash because most body washes that claim to be moisturizing just rinse off and go down the drain without any effect, so I figured this product would be the same. No! I was wrong. I was quite surprised to find this body wash actually delivers what it promises: real hydration and softness, and without any annoying greasiness.
The body wash has a creamy texture and it takes a few seconds to rub it in, so take the time to disperse it so it really soaks in. There are no perfumes or fragrances. Normally I love a strong fragrance, but when it comes to raw, chapped, dry, red or overly sensitive skin, fragrance can be irritating, so this scent free formulation is great as-is.
I would recommend this product to those who suffer from skin sensitivity year round as well as those who feel overly dry in winter or early spring due to the lack of indoor humidity. I fall into the latter camp; my dry skin is seasonal. I would probably switch to a lighter body wash in the summer. But I will go right back to this in the fall when the humidity levels drop again.

Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control Scrub
I’m almost 40 years old (um, I probably shouldn’t tell you that…) but until recently I still suffered from zits–the dreaded “adult acne.”
I complained to my primary care physician about this problem for years and kept putting off a consultation with a dermatologist. Recently, however, I started using Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control Scrub every night, and I noticed some improvements on my own.
But when I went to see my doctor this week for a routine checkup (6 months had elapsed since I last saw her), she looked at me and suddenly exclaimed “Your face! The acne’s gone!” As you can imagine, I was thrilled by her assessment.
Although this is a drugstore product, it is effective. In addition to clearer skin, some of my sun damage is fading. I can’t say the sun damage has been completely eradicated, but I am seeing improvement, particularly around the shrinking edges of my sun spots. I am, of course, trying to be vigilant about daily sunscreen to help this process along.
But I have to give credit where credit is due: Neutrogena really helped me with my embarrassing problem.
As I’ve mentioned here before, I tend to have oily skin and I like products that leave me with a tingle. This scrub removes all of my excess oil without leaving my face stripped or dry. It has the prefect tingle–invigorating but not painful orbiting. The granules in the scrub are on the larger end of the spectrum, however, so this is probably not a good product for those with sensitive skin, who might find it to feel too scratchy. The high level of salicylic acid might also be too much if your skin is dry or sensitive. But if you’re like me–somewhat on the oily side with fairly tough facial skin that doesn’t mind a scrub with some texture–this product will probably help you out with your acne or sunspots too.

Sibu Face and Body Bar with Sea Buckthorn
I’m Finnish American, and the last time I went to Finland to see my family, my health conscious aunt taught me about the antioxidant benefits of the beautiful orange sea buckthorn berry, which is high in vitamin C and great for the skin.
It is believed that because the sea buckthorn plant can thrive in harsh northern environments, it can help skin cells to withstand free radicals and sun damage, primarily because the berries contains essential fatty acids in addition to the antioxidants.
All I know is these berries are gorgeous–such a vibrant, cheerful color–and packed with vitamins, and Sibu Beauty has used them in a delightful face and body bar that tingles slightly and rinses clean without leaving skin feeling tight.
My skin is normal to oily, so while this bar worked great for me, I suspect it might be a bit too tingly for those with sensitive skin; however, Sibu Beauty has other offerings containing sea buckthorn available, so you can likely find a different Sibu formulation to better suit tender skin while still benefiting from the inclusion of the berries.
